Blog Hop & Friday Follow #3

Friday Follow hosted by Parajunkee

What is your usual monthly book budget?

My budget is currently pretty low, I would say about $10. Most of the books I've been reading have been free or very cheap.

If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
Yes I always start with the first title, the only time I didn't was with the Shopaholic series. I had started with Shopaholic and Sister and loved it so I read the others (in order!)

Have a wonderful weekend, thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi! Stopping by from the hop. I'm a new follower.
    You blog seems very cute!

I like to start a series with the first book as well. I don't want to miss any important part of the story!

    Have a nice weekend.

  2. Good Morning Anaiz!

    Happy Friday.

New follower here. I’m doing all three of the Friday blog runs. I don’t limit myself to budget with books. I just love to read and write so that line is always doable for me. And Yes, I love start a series at the 1st book.

  6. I can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
    doesn't run chronologically.

That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.

On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

  7. So glad to have found you via the Hop and FF. I'm your newest follower!

I don't have a monthly book budget either. These days, I'm mostly reading review books or ones I've checked out from the library anyway.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Hi Anaiz, I love your name - I have never seen it. Started following your blog.
I was just looking at your Halo review - I can't even imagine an angel being immature, having also grown up Catholic I have always thought of them as perfect and thus mature. But I didn't pay much attention at Catechism and left the church so not only may I have an imperfect understanding of angels but there are a bazillion ways to define any mythical being.
I am very wary of books with a religious bent, always suspecting an agenda.
This weekend on my blog I have a giveaway and guest post from Kersten Hamilton whose first YA novel comes out tomorrow. The contest ends tonight. I also have a review of Iron Queen by J Kagawa and a new game Sunday Supernatural Summaries. Come on over!

  10. I don't spend too much money on books unless something on my autopurchase list comes out, and I always read a series in order (I also color within the lines too!)!
