The Demon Kiss Blog Tour & Interview with Lacey Weatherford!

The Demon Kiss is Book Two in the Of Witches and Wizards series by Lacey Weatherford. You can find The Demon Kiss on Goodreads, Amazon, and Smashwords. Don't forget to check out the first book in the series too while you're at it!

Lacey took some time to answer a few questions for you all :) Enjoy.

    1. Congratulations! You’ve won a week long vacation to anywhere in the world. Where do you go?
I have always wanted to go to Italy.  I love the pictures I’ve seen of it, from the ancient architecture around Rome to the waterways of Venice, to the rolling vineyard hills of the Tuscan countryside, to the steep seaside villages of the coasts.  Everything about it just looks positively charming and beautiful.  It appeals to me both in a visually artistic sense and also in a culinary way too.  I love Italian food here in America, so I would like to try the authentic dishes and see how it tastes too.  Plus I hear they’re supposed to have some of the finest chocolate in the world too.  I definitely need to try that out!

2. If you could meet anyone (alive or otherwise) who would it be and why?
Well, most people around me know that I would love to meet actor Matt Lanter (90210, Vampires Suck) in person.  I’ve had the opportunity to talk to him online and through letters with his publicist, but I haven’t met him face to face.  Since he was the inspiration for Vance in this series I think that would be a lot of fun.  I also happen to be a big fan of actor/comedian Kevin James (King of Queens, Hitch).  I think he’s hilarious and it would be so fun to sit down and chat with him and get to enjoy his sense of humor.  I also really admire the composer Andrew Lloyd Weber (The Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and the beautiful opera/musicals he has written.  I would love to just sit in a room and observe him working while he was inspired.

3. What is one book everyone should read at least once?
Hmm.  I honestly don’t know of one book in particular, but maybe something with history in it.  Civilizations, or even individual people, seem doomed to often repeat the same mistakes over and over again, so maybe if we all paid a little more attention to our history we would learn from it and save ourselves a little heartache.  We can learn a lot from the past I think.

4. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
I was just a little girl, at the tender age of nine, when I gave it my first try with a mystery story call The Diamond Caper.  I dabbled through the rest of my growing up years with little notes, tales, stories and poems, but I didn’t give it an honest shot until I was in my twenties and it still took me fourteen years to write that book due to lack of a laptop during that time of my life.  The week I finally finished that book I started writing this series, which thankfully went much quicker.

5. Was Demon Kiss harder or easier to write than the first book?
The Demon Kiss was the easiest to write out of all the books so far.  I wrote it in seven days and I could hardly keep up with the material since it was feeding into my brain so quickly.  I think I averaged four hours of sleep a day during that week, spending all of my waking hours writing.  It was an awesome experience!

6.What is a perfect spring day for you?
One without wind!! Unfortunately for those of us in the mountains of Arizona, spring time happens to be an extremely windy time of year for us.  There are days that it honestly feels like my house is going to blow away.  Normal winds probably gust around 35-40 miles per hour, but we’ve had near 100 miles per hour before too.  That wind did a lot of damage, ripping roofs off and breaking windows and such.  Not fun at all!!  So yeah, any spring day without wind is perfect!

Thanks for hosting me…again!

  1. I agree with Lacey!! Italy sounds like the perfect place to spend a week - eating, drinking and living the good life! Also, how lucky of her to know she wanted to be a writer at such an early age! I don't think most people ever really learn what it is that they truly want to do :)

  2. I would also love to go to Italy. Venice especially. I was born in Germany, but haven't traveled to southern europe yet. Actually, I'd go just about anywhere in europe right now...a girl can dream right?

  4. Oops, posted this in the wrong spot...

I never knew Italy was known for their chocolate. My British friend sent me some of their chocolate and I was in heaven! So creamy. Now I really want to go to England. I wouldn't mind traveling to Italy for a little gelato. After watching The Hangover, spending a week in a Las Vegas penthouse sounds fun too.

Kevin James would be a fun person to meet. I would also love to meet Matt Lanter (duh!), Cam Gigandet (Twilight, Priest, The Roommate), Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints, Saw: The Final Chapter) and a few others. I am hoping to get the chance in July at Comic Con.

I would kill for your wind. Better than the straight 110 we get down in Phoenix. I still can't believe that the freak hail storm a few months ago left the campus looking like a tornado blew through. It was crazy! Branches all over the place and a bunch of dorm windows blown out. Luckily, I wasn't at school when it happened.

  7. @Valerie I didn't know about the chocolate thing either until I watched a travelers special on Italy. I already wanted to go...but that just added another check mark into the column! HA!

@Krysta I've had trouble with google posting too in the last day or so. I think I was anonymous yesterday! LOL

@Aydrea Ooh! That sounds like a fun class! Yes, I agree! I would LOVE to get to see the architecture in person. It's so beautiful! I bet it's amazing up close!
