Sundays at Tiffany’s

My mom came home from Blockbuster on Sunday with a surprise for me, a book! I was so surprised and excited, I literally sprinted downstairs and jumped up and down. Oh, what an addiction. Besides, since when does Blockbuster carry books? And for 6 bucks!  Awesome! So I sat down and started reading, it's a small book so I finished it in one sitting.

From Amazon:

Jane Margaux is a lonely little girl. Her mother, a powerful Broadway producer, makes time for her only once a week, for their Sunday trip to admire jewelry at Tiffany's. Jane has only one friend: a handsome, comforting, funny man named Michael. He's perfect. But only she can see him. Michael can't stay forever, though. On Jane's ninth birthday he leaves, promising her that she'll soon forget him. Years later, in her thirties, Jane is just as alone as she was as a child. And despite her own success as a playwright, she is even more trapped by her overbearing mother. Then she meets someone-a handsome, comforting, funny man. He's perfect. His name is Michael . . .

I am not going to give anything away, but I did cry a little (I am the girl who cries over movies and books, yes I haven't seen Titanic in years for that reason). I really liked that it was a short novel and yet it gave a (good) story. It's definitely a curl up with a glass of tea (or an ice cream sundae on a Sunday) book. Give it a shot when you have some time!

Happy Tuesday!

  3. I had no idea that Blockbuster sells books. That's pretty cool though. You are not alone - I am a complete tear jerker too when it comes to sad and even happy endings. I never know when the waterworks are going to come out. My boyfriend even calls me weepy! This books sounds great! I'm glad you liked it. I'm stopping by my local Blockbuster and asking for their hidden book section!
