I was very excited to return to the world of Shadowhunters with Jace and Clary. When I began reading this book for some reason I didn't feel as immersed in it as I had been with the previous three. I mean I read them in one sitting and this one dragged at some point. I felt like I was actually reading instead of experiencing the story. The characters were were their usual selves, awesome to read as always. I felt like some of the humor was being pushed though and it didn't feel natural. Jace and Simon have the funniest interactions but in this book it just didn't flow right. It could be because Jace is dealing with some issues, I understand that, but the other characters? Not so much. 


Speaking of Jace... poor guy! Will he never get a break? Oh how he suffers. The ending of this book was great, it was exciting in a oh-man-the-next-book-is-going-to-be-great kind of way. Some people would call it a cliffhanger, but I definitely didn't see it as one. I don't what to expect of the next book and I can only hope for happiness for all my favorite characters. In City of Fallen Angels we are introduced to an interesting new main-ish character. I hope to learn more about him and his "job" in the next book too, I felt like there is still much to learn about him.
