Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

From Goodreads: For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Let's start with the cover shall we? GORGEOUS! It really is my favorite cover of all time (so far) publishers please keep the amazing photography covers coming. This book is an angel book yes, but the characters were anything but angelic. Patch was a little smart alec at times and I loved it (if you're witty I'll love you). He was a complicated character, it was obvious that there were a lot of emotions and thoughts going through his head. I'll leave it up to you to decide whether he is 'good' or 'bad'. I personally thought he was good and there was no way he would've gone through with *that*. You'll have to read the book to find out what *that* is, 'cuz I am not sharing. Nora's character was interesting in that she was totally book smart and had never been interested in any guy. It was a new experience for me, reading a character like that, it was great. She did things that surprised me like showing up at where Patch was just to ask him some questions for a homework assignment! Oh and he wasn't at a library or somewhere similar, he was playing pool. You get the picture. Vee was a funny character, she was always on a 'color diet' and was so outgoing, she was fun to read, but she was a poor judge of character... The pacing of this book was great, I never felt that it had a dull moment, and every time Patch was mentioned the story for me zipped by. I didn't want it to end. The ending was great, it was exciting and sweet and above all it was satisfying. I don't know if it's just my luck or what, but there have been some books that have left me with my mouth hanging open and nothing else. It left me wondering what in the world was going to happen in the next book Crescendo.

I give this book 4 owls!
