The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

From Goodreads: Grace Divine—daughter of the local pastor—always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood.

Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul.

Wow this book was great, I had heard many good things about this book and I think it is well deserved praise. I read it in one sitting and loved the characters. Grace is a good daughter/sister/citizen and has a lot on her plate in this book, I couldn't help but wish her a happily-ever-after ending. Daniel was an interesting character, he seemed much older than a high school Senior as he came from a rough background and has been through a lot. I cheered him on even more than Grace, I felt for his character and thought he showed a lot of courage and heart. Jude's character just seemed lost, I hope he is able to figure things out in the next book. I would actually like to know more about Gabriel and Grace's dad. I felt that they were important and I would love to learn more about them. The ending was great and I cannot wait to get a copy of The Lost Saint, I have a feeling it's going to be really good. Great even!

I give this book 4 owls!

  2. I know they say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but DANG I LOVE the covers of Bree's books. It makes me want to read them all the more. :D
