Thursday Throwback #2

From Goodreads: Shel Silverstein's magical tradition continues with this long-awaited companion to A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends. Here are more than 100 new poems and drawings by the master of wit and wisdom, featuring a wealth of wonderfully amusing and lovable characters, including Allison Beals and Her 25 Eels, Reachin' Richard, the clothes-dryin' Moose, and Danny O'Dare, the Dancin' Bear. 160 black & white line drawings.

This is the first book of poetry I ever bought, I was about 7 years old at the time. My sister had been in love with Where the Sidewalk Ends herself so at the time I thought it was a cool "older-kid" thing to have. I am very glad I decided to try to be cool because I got an awesome book I normally wouldn't have bought (at that age I was into chapter books and Junie B. Jones). The poems are charming and the illustrations are wonderful, a great book for readers of all ages!

I give this book 5 owls!

  1. This book looks like a very cute read, completely age appropriate, and just a good 'ol book. I was seriously into reading Ramona books when I was younger.
