Still Around

I have not read a single YA book in over four months. I admit I haven't read much at all, but that is about to change my friends. Recently, a family friend told me about her daughter's "book obsession" and how she would finish a book in three days and feel bummed about not have anything else to read. She had difficulty finding books she liked at the library and buying new books was out of the question. I told her about my *ahem* small collection of books and told her that her daughter was welcome to them anytime. She asked for a book for her daughter to try and I gave her the first three in the Vampire Academy series since her daughter had liked Twilight. Her mom returned not a week later beaming with joy many thanks and a shy request from her daughter for the next book in the series. I gave her the last three and she rushed home because her daughter had been, to put it mildly, going crazy not knowing what would happen next. Hearing of her reaction reminded me of the times when I myself was going crazy over a great book or series. It brought a huge smile to my face. Until I realized I had in fact abandoned my beloved book blog (and YOU!) and neglected my inner bookworm (aka my BFF). Reading has done so much for me throughout my entire life that I have found it difficult to forgive myself. And so, I humbly ask all of my fellow book lovers to forgive this young adult and know that I will try my best to immerse myself again in the wonderful/enchanting/far out world that is YA Book Blogging because reading will always have the distinction of being my first love. I hope you are all happy & healthy and curled up with a good book at this moment.
